Steve met Kristen from LaBelle Winery last Thursday at a tasting hosted by Shellie’s Neighborhood Butcher Shop in Derry, NH. We’re long time fans of LaBelle’s wines (blueberry is one of our favorites!) and Steve & Kristen enjoyed sampling each other’s products and chatting about our similar businesses.
At one point Kristen suggested mixing our pineapple mango margarita mix with Labelle’s Seyval Blanc and seltzer, and it was love at first taste! The combination of this light wine and the pineapple mango mix makes a smooth, refreshing cocktail that’s perfect for summer evenings.
Steve brought a couple of bottles of seyval blanc home, and we experimented a bit more by adjusting the ratios of wine, margarita mix, and seltzer, and adding some chopped fresh fruit to make a yummy white sangria. Mmmm. The rest is history.
Below is the recipe we use. If you’re not local to NH and Labelle’s Seyval Blanc is not available, (road trip!) try your own favorite white wine. Happy glass clinking!
White Wine Sangria (makes 4 servings)
1 cup Drink Skinny pineapple mango Margarita Mix
1 cup seltzer
2 cups Labelle’s Seyval Blanc wine (or white or your choice)
1 cup chopped fresh fruit–peaches, strawberries–whatever’s fresh!
ice
1) Mix all ingredients together in a pitcher 2) Stir gently & serve! (we like ours garnished w/a small pineapple wedge too)
