True story. My husband Steve and I discovered margaritas on our first trip to Mexico a few years ago…I know it’s hard to imagine we had never tried them before, but up to that point, we didn’t get out much.
It wasn’t until we tried blending our own margaritas at home that we realized all the margarita mixes on the shelves a) had a list of ingredients unrecognizable as anything remotely safe to consume; b) looked like someone bottled the contents of a nuclear waste spill; and c) had enough calories to instill so much guilt you’d swear to eat nothing but broccoli for the next three days. And P.S. they didn’t taste very good either. Shocking, I know. We wondered, if there were all these ultra premium spirits on the market, why wasn’t there an ultra premium mixer?
You see where I’m going with this, right? Several months, and many margaritas later, we came up with a recipe with the best ingredients and the best taste without the sugar or the calories. We brought our first bottle of Drink Skinny® Margarita Mix (complete with a homemade label courtesy of Microsoft® Publisher) to a new year’s eve party as a joke. The rest, as they say, is history.
